Thank you to Layer Marney tower!

A big Thank you to Layer Marney tower for hosting

our exhibition during the first two weeks of August.

It really was a lovely place to spend some time and

we were all very inspired by the tower and it's grounds.

Kidstival Colchester Saturday 27th August 2011

KIDSTIVAL - Saturday 27^th August

Colne & Colchester Branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild will have a children’s activity tent at ‘KIDSTIVAL’ – the children’s free festival in Colchester to promote their ‘Young Embroiderers’group.

We will be in the main craft tent from 11am – 12noon and then be moving over our Embroiderers’ Guild tent from 12noon – approx 5 pm.

The theme is ‘SPACE’ so if you have children who fancy creating a ‘sock alien’ or painting a ‘space’ shoe bag come along to Castle park on 27^th August for a day full of textiles fun for kids!

Layer Marney Tower exhibition 1st - 10th August

Yesterday a group of us from the Colne & Colchester Embroiderers' Guild spent the day putting up our exhibition at Layer Marney Tower. It is such a beautiful place to spend the day we felt very lucky that we were putting on an exhibition there. The exhibition is in two of the rooms in the tower the 'Linen Room' and the 'Map Room'. The building is an adventure to look around, the views from the tower are stunning.

The exhibition is half way up the tower and offers a welcome rest to guests either on their way up or down the tower.
